Resilience & strength may at times seem so distant, yet within each moment we are full of power to embody these attributes. If we ever feel unable to dig deep enough to pull out strength from our hearts in order to overcome fear and not give up, we have access to strength outside of ourselves that doesn’t require us to be anything other than utter weakness to embrace.

It’s not a flashy, false, phony sort of strength, not one you put on to cover up what you don’t want to face or to hide what you don’t want others to see. It’s a strength that is so beyond our understanding, one that is made of light, energy, vibration and Spirit! One that can be embodied in our spiritual heart as well as embodied within our physical cells.

We hold the power to choose to be strong, and when our power feels limited, we have only to ask for more. Only to sit in the quiet or walk along a path with a heart to receive, to be patient, to listen. Then strength will come flowing to us like a cloth carried on the breeze that wraps around our pain with comfort.

A woman is made of strength, she has an interwoven glory that cannot be muted. When a woman is set free to own her heart and know herself as she truly is, no amount of torture could disconnect her from the power she holds; her own power and the power she embodies from The Eternal Source!

I painted this piece as a reminder to myself, that this coat of strength I am welcomed to dress myself with, is being handed to me if only I will take it. I began painting this piece in a very low place, a place so low I had to decide not to give up. A place that taught me not to give up. And so I say along with my spirit, "I will not give up! I am strong! I clothe myself with Strength, The Strength!" I say, "I embody The Spirit of Strength, The Living Being of All of Life, The Creator of strength and weakness! I accept my weakness as a beautiful part of my being, as a wonderful excuse to not go through life alone!"

Inspiring Verses from the Sacred Text of Scripture:

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come."~Proverbs 31:25

"She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong."~Proverbs 31:17

"The Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon, and he sounded the trumpet…"~Judges 6:34a
